Our Approach
Apirion works beside its clients, not across from them.
How Apirion works is as deliberate as what it works on. A strategy and M&A advisor to the insurance sector, the firm takes a share of the decision, builds capability that stays with the client, and treats the end of a mandate as something to be designed, not delayed.

Five convictions
What makes Apirion different.
Five things shape every mandate.
On the same side
01
On the same side of the table.
Most advice is bought from across a table: a firm is briefed, goes away, and returns with an answer. Apirion works the other way. It joins the client’s side, takes a share of the weight, and stays until the work holds. It is the difference between a firm that advises on the result and one that stands behind it. The same room. The same standard.
Senior, sized to the work
02
Senior judgment, in a team sized to the work.
Apirion is partner-led. A partner is in the room, from the first conversation to the last, and that does not change as a mandate runs. The client’s counterpart is never handed down.
Teams are lean and sized to the mandate. Analysts and associates work behind that line: analysis, modeling, preparation, the discipline of a process. What they produce is a partner’s responsibility, and it is a partner who presents it.
There is a difference between learning in a mandate and learning on a client’s time. The first is how anyone becomes good at this. The second is what a client is charged for at most firms, and Apirion does not do it. The knowledge a client needs is in the room from the first day.
No. of people at each level of experience.
Standard and support
03
A high standard, and the support to meet it.
Apirion is demanding, including of itself, and it will say plainly when something does not yet meet the standard it sets. A client who wanted only agreement would find another firm a better fit.
The candor comes with its opposite: Apirion stands close enough to help reach that standard, never naming a problem without working through it alongside the client.
High expectations and real support are not a balance the firm strikes. They are one posture.
Built to hand back
04
Built to leave capability behind.
The measure of Apirion’s work is what a client can do once the firm has gone, so the work is built to hand back from the first week. As a mandate runs, the thinking and the capability move into the client’s own organisation, not into a dependence on Apirion.
Fit the work
05
We fit the work, not the other way round.
No two mandates ask for the same thing, and few ask for the same thing the whole way through. So Apirion does not arrive with a fixed shape. It reads what the moment needs and meets exactly that: no standing team to keep busy, no format to defend, no interest in staying longer than the work is useful.
The same instinct decides how a mandate ends: it ends when the result holds, not when a contract runs on, and Apirion has done its work when a client no longer needs it there.
Closely, while a question is unsettled.
Lightly, once the client has it in hand.
